As a leading palm oil and coconut producer and exporter, Indonesia prioritizes sustainability across its vegetable oil sectors. This includes implementing smart farming in coconut plantations and smallholder replanting programs.

Indonesia accelerates the transition to clean energy through mandatory biodiesel, aiming for a 30% mixture (B30) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 24.6 million tons of CO2, aligning with energy security goals and a 23% mixture target by 2025.

The promotion of sustainable agriculture and food systems is emphasized globally, notably through the G20 presidency and partnerships like FACT dialogue with the United Kingdom.

Indonesia aims to fulfill SDGs by 2030 despite challenges like inflation and trade issues. With global population growth and increased vegetable oil demand across industries, the market is projected to rise from 199.1 million to 258.4 million metric tons by 2026. Ensuring sustainable vegetable oil supply is vital for smallholders’ livelihoods and economic stability worldwide.
